Barcelona is keeping good on its promise to crack down on graffiti in the city by increasing its cleanup crew to 28 workers, a big jump from the paltry crew of six back in 2001. What started as an effort to get rid of tagging is now spreading to the cleanup of large murals, and it has local artists longing for the freedom they had to bomb wherever they please. The teardrop project is trying to memorialize some of the lost works by fixing a framed photograph of the grafitti to the wall where it once stood. This worked ok until a fan of the site started taking some of the plaques down. If Barcelona is known for its grafitti, it's even better known for it's thieves. I'm not sure if any of it can beat the farting transvestite t-rex adorning this home in barrio Carmel.
